On 5–6 November, experts from the European Regulators and Ukraine’s National Council on Television and Radio Broadcasting will meet to examine how artificial intelligence is reshaping the media sector and what aligning with the EU AI Act will mean in practice.

The two-day discussions will focus on the regulatory framework, timelines, and implementation steps that newsrooms, broadcasters, platforms, and production houses need to understand now.

Participants are expected to explore:

  • EU AI Act essentials: scope, risk classification, and how obligations scale from minimal to high-risk uses.
  • Media-specific priorities: labeling of synthetic and materially manipulated content; provenance and watermarking; transparency for recommendation systems; guardrails during elections and crises.
  • Governance and compliance: risk management, model and data documentation, human oversight before publication, audit trails, and incident reporting.
  • Cross-border alignment: AI applications in the social media , data protection, and copyright
